As the world turns, industries change. Technology revolutionizes old practices and current small business owners face an unprecedented scenarios that can make or break their business. However in a time of change, customers are looking for the businesses that combine cutting edge technology with old school common sense and old world artistry.
Enter Northern Granite.
Northern Granite quietly opened its doors in 2004, headed by a partnership between family men looking to use old skill masonry in a new country. Situated in the back of the 380 Union business complex, Northern Granite quickly became a hidden treasure for the community, as they grew their clientele base with Western Massachusetts’s builders, designers, and homeowners.
Begun as a family business, the leadership began to gain a vision of creating a premier granite fabricator they could pass onto their children with pride.
Today Northern Granite is thriving and takes pride in its work, as they service an increasing area in on the East Coast from Vermont to Florida. As a custom stone fabricator, their team includes two templators, a fabrication crew, an install crew, and office personnel. Located in West Springfield, MA in the back of the 380 Union business complex off of Memorial and Union Street, they have a showroom showcasing several quartz and soapstone brands, as well as displaying granite, marble, and quartz remnants. They also stock granite, quartzite, and marble slabs in their warehouse, where they offer specials to clients open to exploring their options.
Northern Granite has expanded well into the engineered stone, quartz, market, carrying high end brands such as Cambria, Aurea Stone, Alleanza, Pental, and Viatera quartz. They also offer Zeal, Spectrum, Polarstone, Hanstone, and Q quartz as good quality and affordable alternatives.
As for their natural stone selection, Northern Granite has partnered with over 17 different vendors in East Coast area, to bring their clients an all inclusive diverse selection to choose from. With the variation in natural stone, Northern Granite encourages their clients to explore their options and see natural stone in person before purchasing due to potential variations in design, hues, and tones in the slabs.
Can the client purchase directly from these vendors? A common question, which shows a uniqueness of the stone industry. Due to sheer size and weight yet fragility of standard slabs used for fabrication, stone vendors sell directly to fabricators to guarantee safe handling of the stone. Since stone requires special transportation, as well as training to handle stone, the safest option and industry standard, is for clients to work through their granite fabricator to select and procure their stone.
Once the stone is in, Northern Granite works closely with the client to template, fabricate, and install their project. The staff is led by the owner, Vyacheslav (Slava), notorious for his artistic flair and eye for detail.
The company works with a range of products, mainly kitchen and vanity counters. Custom island cuts, special radiusi, mitered edges, and perfect seams are the owner’s personal favorites. But one quickly understands that Northern Granite also produces a high volume of other custom projects such as: table tops, thresholds, wall caps, half walls, shower benches & shelves, fireplaces, jacuzzis, and any other custom stone work.
Northern Granite’s core values center around old fashioned quality. That sparkle and sheer excitement of customers that love their Northern Granite stone is what drives every office and shop decision made at Northern Granite. Northern Granite’s head of customer service put it this way:
” We believe that every business ought to prize people over profit by holding to a high standard of integrity. So when we promise an excellent product and a pleasant customer experience, call us old fashioned, but we are driven to make good on our word. “
As Northern Granite’s team continues to grow, they are more than ever committed to offering a premium experience and product to every customer that comes through their door.
